Ransomware Assess™

The threat of the day is Ransomware, and it can devastate a company’s ability to operate — not to mention prove costly. We identify your vulnerabilities so you can shore up your defenses.

Our Ransomware Assess pinpoints your weaknesses so you can make them stronger.

Ransomware attacks, which lock up companies’ systems until they pay, are increasing in frequency and complexity. The University of Maryland found that malicious hackers now target computers and networks at a rate of one attack every 39 seconds. Recognizing the swiftly growing threat, the President of the United States signed an Executive Order focusing on Ransomware prevention, and the U.S. Department of Justice elevated Ransomware investigations to a similar priority level as terrorism.

The costs of such attacks can be high: The 2021 Verizon Data Breach Report found that, in 2020, the cost associated with a single ransomware event ranged from $69 up to $1.1 million.

The primary function of an attack is to deprive the victim of the use of vital systems and data, essentially preventing a business from operating. Ransomware attacks can include the theft of sensitive data, but the attacks can be just as — if not more — destructive to a business’ operating technology. Financial systems, pipelines, manufacturing lines, and other business infrastructure also must be protected.

No magic bullet exists to prevent Ransomware. But sound, layered security can “harden” the would-be victim and substantially increase Ransomware resistance, as well as decrease remediation burdens. Digital Silence’s trademark Ransomware Assess identifies the potential attack vectors through which most Ransomware is launched. Then, you can shore up those vulnerable points.
